2024 Kids Fishing Contest Results

Hello Christmas Lake fishing fanatics,

Please congratulate Jack Eggert who has again caught the largest bass on the lake this 2024 tournament season with this beefy 20 ¼ inch monster! He caught the fish off their family fishing boat using a ned rig. Jack actually beat his personal record and the kids’ tournament record with this fish. Jack will win an engraved trophy and a $100 gift card to Cabin Fever fishing and sporting goods supply story in Victoria. Believe it or not, NO ONE submitted a northern pike catch this year so we will have to wait until the 2025 season for a trophy pike. The prize money for this year will be rolled into next year’s tournament so the 2025 largest pike will yield a $200 prize!

We would like to thank all the tournament participants this year and the parents for photo-documenting and submitting catches. Please also check out the great honorable mention submissions below. We look forward to competing again next season!

Thank you,

Collin McClelland and Charlie Eggert
Tournament co-organizers

Honorable Mentions Below:

Will Eggert proudly shows off this beautiful 17.25 inch bass alongside brother Jack and sister Annie.

Hudson Anderson caught this magnificent 17.5 inch bass off their family dock. This beauty would have
been a tournament winner in 2022 but the fish keep getting bigger every year!

Olin Pass proudly showcases his impressive 15-inch bass

Oscar Pass shows off his 14-inch bass (right) and 9.5 inch crappie (left).

Millie Seybold wasn’t sure how close she wanted to get to this 15-inch fish affectionately named “Bob the Bass” after catching him herself off the Wallace family dock.

Pierce McClelland landed this 15 ¾ inch bass off their family dock.  We believe this same “resident bass” has been caught yearly for the last 4 years… increasing in size approximately ¼ inch each time. By 2040 this fish might be a tournament winner?

Red Peterson (pictured next to brother Gus) landed this impressive 19-inch bass that would have won in both the 2022 and 2023 tournaments!
